The Awards are held four times a year in four geographic regions, based on Messenger Newspapers circulation map.
These regions are:
| City and Eastern | (Eastern Courier, East Torrens and The City Messengers) |
| North and North Eastern | (News Review, Leader and Standard Messengers) |
| Southern | (Southern Times, Guardian and Hills & Valley Messengers) |
| Western | (Portside and Weekly Times Messengers) |
Over a 12-month period the awards cover the entire Adelaide metropolitan area.
